Don't Let COVID Ruin Your Summer
Let's be real -- summer activities during COVID-19 are pretty limiting as we continue social distancing. Sure, things are slowly reopening...SLOWLY...but there are still a lot of things that have been canceled. That doesn't mean that summer 2020 (I call it The COVID Summer) is canceled. With a little creativity, you can still enjoy yourself, your family, and your friends. If you’re looking for fun things to do, whether you're solo or with family and friends, try a few of these summer activities...I guarantee that the fun you'd have will change your outlook on The COVID Summer.
Here's what I'm hoping; that by the end of summer, you’ll still feel like you got your fill of warm-weather activities—while keeping yourself and your loved ones safe:
Are you a city-lover? Take a break! Drive to a rural town and go stargazing. Most rural towns lack the city lighting, making it easy to see the starts, bright and clear.
Check out your nearest drive-through movie (or create your own in your backyard)
Create a sidewalk art gallery...with chalk, of course!
Join a virtual book club. Activate that inner-bibliophile, friend.
Go for a scenic drive. If you're a city-lover, check out neighborhoods whose houses you admire. Pick out your favorite houses and imagine you living in there.
What do they look like?
What do they still like inside?
Be creative!
Green thumb? Tend to your inner "plant parent" vibes.
Go fishing! It's super calm and a great way to bathe in the sun (don't forget your sunscreen)
Find a new trail and walk it! Maybe even go birdwatching.
Kayaking and canoeing are fun activities to try (and a great workout, too)
Make a pillow fort (yep, remember those?)
Camp out in the backyard; don't forget the smores!
Do you have any ideas to share? I'd love to hear them!
xoxo,
Darra Michelle
